A short, stand-alone, clean little contemporary romance for those who prefer that genre. The sexual content is limited to feelings associated with a long dance with a hug, and at a later point a kiss. This one is sweet, but totally unbelievable, and is peppered with oddly worded descriptions and phrases. The best thing about this book is the title, which is cute.

After practically being stood up at the alter, Genie Wainwright takes the Hawaiian honeymoon trip alone, trading the Maui trip for a week-long one at the Sapphire Bay Resort in Oahu. On her 6th vacation day she is introduced to Donne Taylor, the resort owner, believing him to be just an employee. At the beginning of their first date, before even leaving the hotel, he looks at her, gives a sad smile and asks, "You're fresh off a heartbreak, aren't you?" Huh????? One subsequent platonic date later, followed by a next-day breakfast together, and then that evening they have a romantic dinner during which he asks her to move in with him (even re-locating her business), and calling it love at first sight. Moments later she is stating that she knows that her life is going to be empty without him in it. Really? She barely knows him, and little more than a week earlier had been practically at the alter with someone else! The scene following their 3rd dinner date occurs 6 months later (the epilogue), making the story very truncated. There is no character development and the indication of chemistry between them is questionable. Some of the descriptions seemed strange rather than a seamless part of the story ("The hostess trotted away...", ..."perched herself under an umbrella.", "...hunger pains nagged at her sanity....", etc.), although the descriptions of the mother were done fairly well. As the introduction to the Sapphire Bay series, this short book is not strong enough to entice me to read any of the subsequent books, even if they are to be provided free.

Second Chance Bride Sapphire Bay Romance Book 1 edition by Sandra Edwards Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Aside from several distracting typos and grammar mistakes (and reading about "letting the cat out of the bed"), I didn't feel any chemistry between the H and h. I also didn't buy the h falling madly in love mere days after being dumped on her wedding day. I couldn't believe she was thinking about asking him to move back home with her one day after meeting him. I enjoy reading for escapism as much as the next hopeless romantic, but I just didn't find this remotely believable
Genie is dumped on her wedding day and trades the honeymoon in for a Hawaiian vacation. Its a simple short story of romantic love developing after heart break. I most impressed because this is the second book in a row I've read with this theme. The other one such a disaster it made this one shine. The story could have been expanded to hear more about beauty of the island and to have a deeper relationship develop. It's a cute fast read though.
Can you imagine being stood up at the altar? Well, using the honeymoon trip to Hawaii would kind of perk things up! The author gave us a beautiful description of the hotel, the grounds, and Hawaii. Reading this short story was like taking a vacation without leaving my house.

I was enjoying the story so much and the characters that I hated to see it come to an end. If you are looking for a short romantic read, this is a very good one!
Beautiful "happy ever after" story about a jilted bride who meets her true love after escaping her family's well meant effort to console her. Genie Wainright meets Donnie Taylor with a lot of help from his mother! They all have a great time together and the love happens with no effort!

Sandra's books continue to feed my love for romance and that happily ever after! Thank you Ms. Edwards and I wish you many more years of success!
This was the fastest romance I ever read that went from zero to sixty in two chapters flat. I understand it's kind of a novella but it was too fast paced and it was hard to see the character's development of themselves or their relationship, when it goes like this John met Jane. They went on a date. They admitted they liked each other. They got married. (This is just an example, not the character's real names). The book ended too quick and at the end, I felt I had whiplash and didn't understand the characters at all.
This was a cute, very clean romance. She is jilted on her wedding day. Since the honeymoon in Hawaii was already paid for, she decided to go by herself. She decided to change the reservations from the honeymooners hotel in Oahu and went to a new resort on Maui. There she meets Donnie, the owner of the hotel, even though she doesn't know that and thinks he is just an employee.

I like how she quickly realized that since she was not "Ms. Astor", there was nothing wrong with her dating an employee. Theirs was a quick romance and a very clean one. Teens could read this as well as any other age. It was an enjoyable read and I would certainly recommend it.

I did notice in one place where Maria was called Marla. and a "road" is something you travel down. "rode" is something, in Hawaii, that you do to a wave. Just minor things and I am in no way qualified to correct English or spelling it is just that those two things jumped out at me!! Good read tho and it certainly did not take away from the story. Probably just typos.
Sandra Edwards happily ever after romance of Donnie and Genie is what love is made of. By her descriptive word play I felt like I was in Hawaii enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the sapphire blue water, the elegant layout of the hotel, seeing with my minds eye the Hawaiian shirts Donnie wore, the beautiful outfits Genie wore and exquisite beauty of the hawaiian islands. Sandra's artistic ability to weave words Into an art form of expressive descriptions gives her readers the ability to imagine themselves right along with the characters. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and know that she is an author I will continue following. She has taken me from some new reader to now, a new fan.
